Nord-Vågsøy Church
Nord-Vågsøy Church ((ノルウェー語:Nord-Vågsøy kyrkje)) is a parish church in Vågsøy Municipality in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It is located in the village of Raudeberg on the northeastern coast of the island of Vågsøy. The church is part of the Vågsøy parish in the Nordfjord deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, concrete church was built in 1960 by the architect Ole Halvorsen. The church was consecrated on 24 October 1960 by the Bishop Ragnvald Indrebø.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Nord-Vågsøy kyrkje )〕
==History==
The island of Vågsøy was historically part of the prestegjeld (parish) of Selje. In 1580, a chapel was built on the island of Vågsøy, just south of Raudeberg at the ''Kapelneset'' point, along the eastern shore. The chapel was served by the priest from Selje Church approximately once each month. This chapel existed until 1854 when a larger church was built in Raudeberg. The 1854 church was in use until it burned down in 1945. After World War II there was much to rebuild all over Norway, and so this church was not rebuilt until 1960.
